Khao San Road

Khao San Road is almost 1 km long street filled with various shops, vendors, bars and restaurants, as well as hotels and guesthouses. Over the years Khao San Road has grown from the meeting point of the world backpackers to the place for families and tourists on longer holidays looking to spend their vacation in Thailand. Found along the street are numerous travel agencies ready to offer you transportation or fun activities in other parts of Thailand, as well as trip to other parts of South East Asia. Nightlife of Khao San Road is not only interesting and inviting for foreigners, but also brings locals, especially younger population of Thailand.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Khao San Road is about one kilometre away from other tourist attractions worth visiting, like Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew or Bangkok National Museum, and right across Wat Chana Songkram, the Buddhist temple which is under royal protection.
  • Before becoming the hotspot for backpackers in past few decades, this road was one of the biggest rice markets in Bangkok.
