BTS Skytrain

A BTS Sky train is an elevated electric train that runs through the main towns of Bangkok. Since traffic in Bangkok can be quite busy and hectic, they came up with a solution to beat the traffic jam in the city by developing the Bangkok Mass Rapid Transit famously known as the sky train. This is quite an attraction to the tourists as it provides them with the most convenient way of touring Bangkok and its neighborhood. It is a popular way of getting around and quicker than taking a taxi. It has two lines which are Sukhumvit and Silom which serves the city and intersects at Siam station.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • The first train leaves between 5:30 am to 6 am and the last train leaves at exactly 12 midnight. A new train arrives every five minutes meaning there are no delays.
  • The fare starts at 16Baht for one station. Children below the height of 90cm travel for free while above that height have to pay the full amount.
